Sustainability

Our concept at Hotel Fischer

In recent years we have invested a great deal in "sustainability". We want future generations to find a world that is worth living in, too. Below you will find a few examples:

  • Instead of oil heating, we use district heating. This means we avoid burning 36,000 l of heating oil every year!
  • We have switched to LED lighting throughout the entire hotel.
  • Rooms are cleaned only every 2 days, which saves energy, water and cleaning products. Towels can be changed daily on request!
  • All washbasins and shower heads are state of the art – saving lots of precious drinking water.
  • We buy locally. (Brewery 0.5 km and wholesaler for all food 3 km away)
  • We use and cook with regional produce (e.g. meat, vegetables, dairy products, beer, bread…).
  • St. Johann Card with free local mobility by bus and S-Bahn train.
  • Sustainability is a process. We regularly review our measures, set new goals and continue to develop – together with our employees, guests and partners.

Sustainable cleaning

  • Use of environmentally friendly, biodegradable cleaning products.
  • Training of the housekeeping team in sustainable cleaning processes.

Local partnerships

  • We work closely with producers and suppliers from the region – whether for food, drinks or craftwork. In this way, we guarantee freshness, strengthen the local economy and avoid unnecessary transport routes.

Cuisine with provenance

  • Our breakfast kitchen uses seasonal produce from the region – from the beekeeper to the dairy. Traditional dishes at the breakfast buffet are combined with modern ideas, always with a focus on quality and regionality.

Supporting culture & tradition

  • We support local clubs, festivals and cultural initiatives – whether through sponsorship, participation or by communicating them to our guests.
  • We are convinced that sustainable tourism is not only possible, but necessary. That is why we offer:
  • Environmentally friendly ways to travel here (e.g. pick-up service from the railway station)
  • Options for soft mobility on site: with the St. Johann Card, our guests can use public transport free of charge throughout their entire stay.
